Netflix has premiered the first poster for the third season of its big-budget fantasy drama “The Witcher” based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski.
The poster comes with the promise “til tomorrow” which suggests an announcement is coming – most likely an air date that could be as early as this Summer. There may even be a first trailer on the horizon.
The third season was shot between April and September last year with filming taking place in Slovenia, Croatia, Morocco, parts of the Sahara, Wales, Surrey and Longcross Studios in England.
Series creator and showrunner Lauren Hissrich has previouly indicated the new season is primarily an adaptation of “Time of Contempt,” one of the more action-heavy entries into Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel series. She adds it’s also the “closest thing that we’ve done as a one-to-one adaptation of the books”.
The new run marks Henry Cavill’s final outing in the role of Geralt of Rivia with Liam Hemsworth to take over the role for the show’s fourth season. Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey co-star in the series with the new episodes following in the wake of the poorly receiving prequel spin-off mini-series “The Witcher: Blood Origin”.
