Hadrian’s Wall under threat as Brexit delays heritage payments

Katie Price, the former glamour model and reality TV star, is facing a possible prison sentence after she was arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining order.

The 43-year-old was detained by police in West Sussex on Saturday after being accused of sending a string of abusive text messages to the partner of her ex-husband.

Her arrest comes just weeks after the troubled mother of five was given a 16-week suspended jail sentence for driving while disqualified and under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.

Ms Price was made the subject of a restraining order in 2018 following an incident in which she clashed with Michelle Penticost, the partner of Kieran Hayler, her ex-husband.

Police had to be called after the former model hurled abuse at Ms Penticost in a school playground in front of shocked children.

She was fined and ordered not to contact her “directly or indirectly” for a period of five years.

It is understood that Ms Penticost contacted Sussex Police after receiving a series of text messages on Friday afternoon which caused her distress.

Officers then attended a property in Partridge Green, West Sussex, and Ms Price was asked to accompany them to a nearby station.

She was held for about 15 hours and questioned before being released under investigation.

If found to have breached the terms of the restraining order, Ms Price could be found in contempt of court and jailed.

In a statement, Sussex Police said: “At 5.45pm on Friday police responded to a report that a suspect had breached their restraining order. Officers arrested a woman in her 40s who has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.”

The incident represents Ms Price’s latest brush with the law and comes four months after she crashed her BMW X5 into a hedge near her home following a drink and drugs binge.

She subsequently pleaded guilty to drink driving at Crawley Magistrates’ Court and agreed to attend a rehabilitation clinic.

She was handed a 16-week suspended sentence and ordered to complete 100 hour of community service.
