Cavill, Gyllenhaal, Gonzalez Join Ritchie’s Next

MGM, Paramount Pictures

Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza Gonzalez will all team up for filmmaker Guy Ritchie’s next project – a big-budget, untitled action movie being sold at Cannes.

Story details and title are being kept mostly under wraps, but it is said to be full of Ritchie’s trademark humor – as seen in films like “The Gentlemen,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” and “Sherlock Holmes”.

Cavill and Gyllenhaal will play two extraction specialists who must plan an escape path for a high-level female negotiator. The project marks a reunion of Ritchie with past talent – he and Gyllenhaal recently collaborated on “The Covenant” which is in cinemas.

Ritchie and Cavill previously worked together on ‘U.N.C.L.E.’ and have recently been filming the WW2 period film “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare”, which co-stars Gonzalez. Ritchie says in a statement:

“There’s something special that happens when you collaborate with the same partners regularly: you build a shorthand and a trust that lets everybody do their best work. Jake, Henry and Eiza are all astonishingly talented, committed, and engaging actors. This is going to be an action-packed movie that is both intellectually stimulating and physically exhilarating.”

The new project will begin filming in Spain this summer. Ritchie wrote the original screenplay and will also produce alongside Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg.
